Bronkster's Star Currency / Consignments --------------------------------------------
I Steve Bronk started collecting coins in 1965 when my mother gave us a quarter for our school lunches. I was always fascinated in the look of the coins from that error and put them in my pocket. When I got home mom would always asked me how was lunch today and I would always replied that it good and then put that quarter in a box in the closet when she wasn't looking.
I began to collect U.S. paper money shortly after when ever I made enough from part time jobs cutting the grass to shoveling snow and yes part time baby sitting on weekends as well. In 1971 when I obtained my first job selling Ice Cream out of a truck for a $1.80 an hour which gas back then was only $.85 cents a gallon. I started collecting at a larger scale putting 10 to 20% of my pay checks into my pascthion for collecting currency for the next 10 years or until I got married in 1984 and couldn't afford collecting after having two wonderful kids ( Krystal and Kyle )
In 1990 I separated and in 1992 I met a wonderful women ( Cindy ) that had a son named ( Cory ) After a few years Cory became fascinated in coins as well after seeing my collection and stories of collecting when I was younger. When Cory turned 18 he started collecting currency on his own which really surprised me in today's market he had the same desires as I had when I was his age. The only thing different between us besides our ages is he has put together a great collection of 1928 FRNs and postal savings notes he desires to collect. My desire was only for the FRN1950's all denominations and districts. This inspired me to start collecting again and together over the years Cory and I now own the largest collection of Winona Nationals known that includes and a uncut sheet of three 1902 $5 serial # 1's from the First National Bank of Winona Mn.
I also own the only complete set for the Federal Reserve 1950 $100 dollar stars. This set contains the only know 1950 $100 dollar star from Minneapolis ( I00000864* ) which can be seen on my website under my Personal Collection or in the ( BNR ) Bank Note Reporter where there was a nice article printed on the front page about this newly found note -------February Issue 2008 ...
In 2003 I advanced from just collecting and opened up a website to help others complete there dream collection.
